Beondegi

Today is Esther's 18th Birthday... went to a Korean Restaurant for lunch.... we have been joking about eating that Korean Bug thingy ever since we 1st went there to eat, we finally got it...

at 1st glance.. erm.. well just look at the pictures i posted... it ain't a pretty sight... and it seriously look like cockroaches... the taste, it's erm.. how to say.. unique.. haha... it ain't as bad as it looked, but after 2 spoon full of it, i start to get sick of it already... guess why?.. NO ONE ELSE (other than audi, guy with the white jacket) is willing to eat it... like argh...!!! come on... and and.. it ain't cheap.. it's like $15NZD, I think it is the most expensive dish on the table... mmm...

Note to everyone who wants to spend someone lunch, make sure you tell the owner that you are gonna pay.. this birthday girl of ours, went to get a drink and ended up paying for the lunch... gah.. didn't see that coming... thought she'll be busy being entertained by her friends...

Came home, tummy full.. and ain't feeling good now.. because I ate too much...

and.. guesss what?.. I went and google the bug, and found out how it looks like a live.. mmm... if i knew it looked like that, I don't think I'll try it in the 1st place.. o well... there is a frist thing for everything....

It's actually silkworm pupae. Beondegi are a popular snack food in Korean cuisine. Literally meaning "chrysalis" or "pupa" in Korean, Beondegi are steamed or boiled silkworm pupae which are seasoned and eaten as a snack. I ain't gonna post the pic on the blog... it ain't a nice thing to see... Go check it out on the link..

Tree Adventures

Went to Tree Adventures... It's this place where u hang around like monkeys but it's awesome as...
1st, about that ice-cream... We were on the way to the place but we stopped at this ice-cream place.. (because the last time we attempted to go to this shop, it was closed, and it ain't near..
was like 15mins away) it's near a farm, they grow their own strawberries and then make ice-cream/smoothies with it.. was really good...

Now back to the tree adventures... this place has like courses that u have to go through and each with it's own specific challenges. Though I really like the flying foxes (note, its plural) It reall
y reminds me of the wilderness adventure camp that I went back in 2004. But it ain't as hard as this...

The harness and all the equipment, was really coolz... makes me wanna go rock climbing again.
Some parts of the course are damn high... and it ain't nice looking down.. Strangely, you'll have this constant feeling that you'll slip and fall... :-s

Well, in the end, was all good... except for those extreme wedgies that i got from using the harness... :-s

note: the people in the pic are my cousins. I don't have much pic of myself on my own camera :-(

Scene of reaching home...

I wasn't feeling too good just now. I was out but I was in a foul mood... was really glad when I was in the car, heading back. For the whole time I'm in NZ, I was never so happy to get home..

I was thinking back on how I use to head back to Keningau from KK... You'll need to go up this small hill (well small by Kgu-KK road Standards). I remember, when the car is on top of that hill, as you head back down, you can see the padi fields all around and a river flowing though it. That's when I know I'm about 20min from home.

I love that scene, espicially if I have been away from home for quite sometime.... I can't wait to go back home....
